Tips for Introducing Solid Foods to your baby
The signs are ready to be given solid food:
- Having good control of head and neck
- It can sit alone
- Shows interest in food.
- The tongue remains in the spoon when inserted into the mouth.
- Accustomed to the new food textures and
- Reaching the food or other objects, reach out and put it in the mouth.
- Moving the spoon from one hand to the other
- When you are satisfied, can show by way of turning the head or by closing your mouth shut.
Tips for introducing solid foods:
- Introduce only one new food and give it for 2 to 4 days before introducing other foods to make sure your baby is not allergic to these foods.
- Feeding sequence: Start solid feedings with foods that most do not cause allergies (most low protein content), yairtu Cereal (red rice, white rice, oatmeal). Mix with milk, water or formula until the semi-liquid. Some nutritionists recommend that vegetables be introduced before the fruit, because fruit that tastes sweet will make the taste less sweet vegetables become attractive to babies.
